COD Server Rules
Clan Info
Welcome The 2nd ID is a tactical clan and we try to play with that mind set. The premise we try to play by is this. If a soldier in real life can''t or wouldn''t do it, don''t do it in the game. A soldier going into operations is carrying on average 50 to 80 lbs of amour, ammo, water and equipment and that can dramatically change how fast you can move and what you can jump from.
Walking Is a forward, backward or sideways movement in the up right position with sights up or down. Walking with sights up is UNRESTRICTED movement and is allowed in all circumstances. Walking with sights down is RESTRICTED movement and is to be treated the same as running (see Running for further info).
Crouch Is a bent over movement used when trying to avoid detection or taking cover behind low walls and such. Also useful as it provides a smaller target to shoot at.
Running Running is sprinting and sprinting is running. Running is allowed when under direct fire, away from a grenade. Once you are under cover again continue your movement in a tactical manner crouching or walking sights up.
Jumping/Hopping Repeated hopping during movement is called ''Bunny Hopping''. Typically this is employed to avoid fire and cause foes to mis due to trying to track a target. Repeated hopping is against our rules. Jump Shooting is jumping up and shooting at the highest point, is also a violation of our rules.
Diving/Dolphin Diving Diving prone is exceptable. Dolphin Diving is employed to avoid fire and cause foes to mis due to trying to track a target. Dolphin Diving is jumping and while coming down going prone in one motion and is against our rules. Typically this done via binding several keyboard commands to one key.
Spawn Killing Is when you are killing players as soon as they spawn. This is not allowed, but it does happen. If you find yourself unintentionally spawn killing say you''re sorry and back off, that''s all it takes and everyone is happy. Also I would like to add that in COD 4/5 some maps, certain game types and the game itself will lead to spawn killing, especially with a full server. Once again if this happens just say sorry and back off.
Spawn Suppression This is when your team has all routes of exit of the enemy spawn covered. This is allowed it does suck if you''re being suppressed but it forces your side to work together as a team to make it out of the spawn area. Smoke lots of smoke!!!
Use Of Sights The use of sights (open or other) should be done all the time. A shot that is not aimed is a wasted shot. The only time firing from the hip is allowed is during a chance encounter.
Chance Encounter Is an encounter that happens by chance or surprise, i.e. coming around a corner or moving around in the dark. In these cases there is not always time to shoulder your weapon, and firing your weapon from the hip is acceptable.
Defense/Camping Is where one stays in one spot and defends an area or route. Some people like to call this camping and consider it a form of cheating. Not in the Tactical Realism world, it is a real tactical tactic both in the real world and in the game.
Burst-Sprinting This practice is when you crouch or walk and then sprint for 2 to 3 steps and then crouching again, repeating the process over and over. This is considered a form of running and all running restrictions apply.
Heights Please do not jump from second story windows or heights that cause damage to your character. There are no medics to carry you off the field when you break your leg.
Glitching This is practice of finding a flaw in the map design that allows you to hide inside/under walls or map terrain. If you are caught doing this, you will be banned no questions or warnings.
Wall Spamming This a practice of riddling walls with bullets in the hope that you might catch some poor soul hiding on the otherside. While not technically against the rules, it is generally frowned upon by most players.
Perks/Weapons There are no restricted Perks or Weapons. You may freely use any you like. However there are some that are frowned upon by the majority of players such as Martydom or Last Stand.
Ledging There is not rule against ledging. This is the practice of climbing into a window and using that tiny ledge of bricks to cling to the wall and walk around the outside of a building or similier situation such as standing on a fence rail or other surface that would be crazy in real life.
An Admin Wronged Me If you feel an Admin has kicked you or called you out unfairly. Do Not argue in game. You will most likely get banned if you do. The game is not a forum for debating the rules. We want everyone to feel at home but mistakes can and have been made. If you feel you were treated unfairly please send a private message to an clan member here on the website. They will be more than happy to discuss the issue with all envolved and find a resolution.
I Disagree With A Rule The game is not a forum for debating the rules. Please send a private message to a clan member here on the website. They will be more than happy to discuss the issue with you.
Language Please keep it clean. We are a family server. Women and children play here. It is a good show of maturity and mannors to not be a potty mouth. It also shows respect to your fellow players to refrain from using bad language. Yes, we know the game is rated M and that it uses bad language as well. That however doesn''t mean that we have to do so or lower ourselves to that level of communication.
Nade Spamming All nades should have a target prior to deployment and should not be thrown at random. All those that throw nades without a target to a distant destination are classed as spammers and are subject to a kick and or ban. (Smoke is the ONLY exception).
Unsportsman Like Conduct Grief''ing, being a Hater, being excessively annoying, obnoxious, childish or otherwise disrupting the game and others enjoyment of the game by picking a fight, egging on or any disruptive behavior will get you kicked or banned.
Blank/Black PB Screenshot The 2ID periodically audits players using the PunkBuster screenshot feature. Under normal operating conditions, Punkbuster should not return blank screenshots unless the player is tabbed out of the game. This server implements a three strikes policy on blank screenshots. If three or more blank screenshots are returned for a player during a game session, the 2ID reserves the right to ban this player from our game server. Exceptions to this policy will be made for any known technical issues documented or confirmed by Evenbalance.
Conclusion These are the RULES that we play by on the 2nd ID server. Please follow them and all will have a good time, and if in doubt let good sportsmanship rule the day.
